1.1 Choose Your Product Niche

Before registering anything or building a website, you must validate that people actually want what you plan to sell. This is the single most important step and the one most new entrepreneurs skip.

Questions to answer first:

  • What problem does your product solve?

  • Who is your ideal customer — age, location, income, interests?

  • Is there sufficient search demand? (Use Google Trends, Ubersuggest, or Ahrefs)

  • Who are your main competitors and how will you differentiate?

  • What is your pricing strategy — premium, competitive, or budget?

Ecommerce Example: Eco-Friendly Baby Products

1.2 Competitor & Market Research

Spend at least two weeks researching your market before proceeding. Look at:

  • Top 5 competitors — their websites, pricing, reviews, social following

  • Google search volume for your key product terms

  • Facebook and Instagram audience size in your niche

  • Amazon AU and eBay Australia for pricing benchmarks

  • IBIS World or Statista for industry size data
